Joanne Harris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2015.
Joanne Harris

AGE: 64 • Bridgeton

On May 28, 2015, God quietly extended his almighty hands of love and touched the brow of the dearly beloved Joanne Harris. She was born to Joe and Viola Lovett on March 30, 1951 in Midville, Georgia.

She attended public schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Port Norris, New Jersey.

Joanne worked as a Packer at Wheaton Glass in Millville, New Jersey and later became a dealer for Caesar's Casino of Atlantic City, New Jersey and Hollywood Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Vineland, New Jersey. For the family and a lot of others, she was the go to person for advice, and when she spoke, her words stuck, and left imprints on people. Joanne was known at any karaoke event or family function, for always singing her favorite song, "Midnight Train to Georgia," by Gladys Knight.

Joanne leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, a husband, Scott Howell, of Bridgeton, New Jersey; one son, Stan (Carol) Lovett of Texas; one daughter, Sharonda (Darren) Harris-Bunton of Pittsgrove Twp, New Jersey; two sisters, Betty (Daniel) Phillips of Bridgeton, and Lorraine Edwards, of Millville, New Jersey; one brother, James (Lorraine) Lovett of Millville, New Jersey; two very close friends, Diane Miller and Barbara Jean Burden, both of Bridgeton, New Jersey; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Joe and mother Viola Lovett, a sister, Viola (Charles) Barner, a daughter, Kimberly Harris, and niece, Felice Miller. Ministry of Comfort Entrusted to May Funeral Home, Vineland, NJ. www.mayfuneralhomes.com.
