Joe H. Russom, Jr.

You remain so many things to so many people, Dad. An excellent Son, Brother, Cousin, Husband, Father, Pa, Papa, Great-Grandfather, and Friend to so many, you lived an extraordinary life, you lived it fully and well, and you finished it well. Your love for your people taught us all how to love our people, a torch you carried forward when Mom left us in 2005. Your love of the outdoors, of life on the water and in the field, took most of us many places with you, taught us sensibilities, perspectives and truths that pass from one to another only with the experience of “doing.” “Love does,” and you did, and we’re grateful.
Among those we lost before you are your wife, our Mom and Grandmother, Janice M. Russom; your parents Joe H. Russom Sr. and Tommie Smith Russom Holland; your grandson Nicholas Russom.
You’ve left behind this great legacy of people, and among them are your children Todd (Lori) Russom, Scott (Julie) Russom, Kevin (Cristina) Russom, Jennifer (Michael) Schrampf; your grandchildren Taylor (Ryan) Lucas, Quinn (Nick) Koboldt, Kelsea Russom, Matt Kammeier, Rachel (Clayton) Stiens, Victoria (Carlos) Jeer, Amanda (Alex) Svitnev, Devin Hughes, Alexandra (Regan) Kelly, Sierra Hughes, Isaiah Hughes, Jessica Hughes, Abigail Russom, Elizabeth Russom, Hattie Russom, Joseph Russom, Shayla Russom, and Tyler Schrampf; your great-grandchildren Sunny Koboldt, William “Little Will” Svitnev, Teddy “T-Bear” Svitnev and Miss Elayna Kelly; your brothers Col. Kenneth (Nancy) Russom and Oliver Benny (Salice) Russom and many family members to remember you well.
The friends you collected along your path are countless, and you had a knack for making those great connections between them and your own people. Because you did this faithfully and well, your many friends remain our friends, and we count them among our own.
We’ll celebrate your life on Saturday, January 25 at Lazy River Grill (631 Big Bend Rd, Manchester, MO 63021), the best place for a fitting tribute (as friends and family will attest), between Noon and 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, we’re asking that folks make a donation to The American Cancer Society in honor of you and Mom ().
We are grateful to God for you, for the leader, student, coach, partner, and buddy you were. Those who celebrate you know there’ll never be another one like you-you were an original. We will love you always.
A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Cousin Joe, I had not seen you in many years. I will always cherish the times we all spent together at Lake Weiss. Always fun love togetherness and laughter.
Joe, we will miss you so much, the summers will not be the same without you. We have lots of memories that we will keep in our hearts of so many things that we have done together. All of our kids loved you dearly also and especially when you would come do

Papa, I dont know where to begin. You and grandma were my world. I looked up to you both in many different ways. You taught me so many things in this life, I will never forget...anything. I feel so selfish for moving to Colorado when I did. I know you told me you gotta do what you gotta do, but I regret in many ways leaving you. I hope you are finely reconnecting with Nicky and you guys are pulling yellow perch and walleye out of the waters right and left. I will miss you forever and love you always. Give grandma a HUGE hug from me. Love, Mouth❤
