Joe Graham McElroy, 81 began his journey peacefully to the Lord on October 17, 2015 as his three loving children stood at his bedside with their hands placed upon his heart.
On February 25, 1934, Joe was born in the small town of Henderson, Texas. At a young age, he moved to Deweyville, TX where he met the love of his life Rebecca and had three wonderful children. During his career, He was a firefighter which he truly enjoyed for over 26 years. He was also employed at Goodyear where he retired after 32 years of service. Joe was a hard working man who was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his true love Rebecca Jane McElroy also known as Kitty and his second wife as well as 4 siblings. Within two hours of his death his brother Charles joined him on his everlasting journey.
Joe is survived by his three devoted children, oldest daughter Pamela Robinson and husband Jesse Robinson Jr., his daughter Thelma (Sissy) Alfrey and husband David Alfrey, his son James (Bubba) McElroy and wife Angela McElroy. In addition to his children, Joe is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two siblings Mildred Hall and George McElroy.
Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2015 12 noon-2pm with Funeral Services at 2pm, Both at Pasadena Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery

Papa Joe was always like a second dad to me, he was very loving and caring. He was a wonderful husband and father , and i will miss him dearly
