Joe, you were always a good friend to my family. I will miss your phone calls and asking what was new in Tombstone. You will be greatly missed. You can now be with Betty whom you missed very much.

Joe was a stepfather for 60 years. He was the only father figure I ever had, even though I married right after he and my mother Betty got together and never lived with them. he loved my mother very much and took care of her in her last years, when she was ill. he accepted Jesus in his 80's and loved it when I prayed with him. i called him every Sunday and sent him our special cookies often. He loved expensive cologne from Macy's and knew we would send him some for Christmas, Fathers Day, and Birthday. he loved to look nice and put on his suits with monogramed shirts we provided. He was a very independent man and the prospect of being dependent on others , especially with his personal care, was more than he could bear. As Joe always said, it was time to jump ship. He was a proud man and knew others should not have to care for him in that manner. A special thank you to Missy, Gary and Fonzie who did much of his special care for many years. They were lifelong friends going back to her parents and love was in both directions. We loved you Joe and thank you for loving us. Gene and Josie Stordahl

We are all still in disbelief of your sudden departure. We love you- and we know you loved us in return. You and Betty were great friends to my dad and mom and been in my life ever since I was born.
It was a pleasure and out of pure love helping you to the best of my ability on a daily basis through your illness . You where like a father to me and I greatly miss you always!! Missy, Gary and Fonzie
