John Arthur Baker, aged 69, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Surrey, BC. Born on July 8, 1955, he was known for his humorous and jovial nature, bringing smiles and laughter to all who knew him.

John enjoyed a successful career in hydraulic and pneumatic sales, eventually becoming a founding owner of Controlled Motion Inc. which he led from 1993 until his retirement in 2020. His professional life was characterized by his technical knowledge and dedication to customer service, traits that earned him respect in the industry.

Outside of work, John had been an avid slowpitch player, coached Little League and soccer, enjoyed daily walks with the family dog, traveling, music and attending sports and family events. These activities reflected his fun-loving spirit and his desire to embrace life's pleasures.

John leaves behind a loving family who will miss him deeply, his wife Linda; son Joel, his wife Jenn and grandson Graham; daughter Alissa, her partner Andrew and grandchildren Imogen, Guy, and Rory. He is also survived by his brothers, Don (Lee) and Tom (Aloma); sisters, Pat and Kathy (Eric) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a central figure in their lives, providing love, humor, and guidance.

There will be no services as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor John's memory can make contributions to the Alzheimer's Society BC, supporting a cause important to him and his family. John's legacy of kindness, dedication, and humor will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
