John Butts Obituary
John Lee Butts, 88, passed away August 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. John was a lifetime member of Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and a coach for Little League Baseball in his early years. He also played semi professional baseball and retired from Sears and Roebuck after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Florence; children, Theresa Baomi Watson (Robert G.), Gregory (Geraldine), Larry (Hasser) & Wanda Jean; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; two uncles, Edell & Jonas; aunt, Margaret; nephews, Carlton & Ralph; Godchild, Cheryl Bishop; his church family, adopted family and kind friends.
Services will be Friday, August 18th 7 p.m., preceded by Wake at 6:00 p.m. at Indiana Baptist Church, Pastor John E. Roberts. Visitation is Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the House of Day Chapel.

To the Butts family, I'm agonizing over the transitioning of a great Man, Husband, Father, and Grandfather because I wish I could be in T-Town to honor John and love/hug my fam. Unfortunately, I can't leave our 96 year old MoMa. But you know we are there in Spirit and we are sending our sincere love and blessings to the Butts family. May GOD provide you complete comforting. Butts Family, I am saddened to read the passing of Mr. Butts. He was my little league coach at Lincoln School. I remember his passion to make us "boys" better on the field, but also to become better "men" in the future. Family, remember the good times with him, he will never leave you. May GOD bless you.
