JOHN G.
Age 90, of Mt. Lebanon, died November 20, 2006. Husband of the late Margaret (Richards) Gruen; loving father of Mary Ann (John) Hartley; brother of Bernie (Stan) Francis of Vero Beach, FL and the late Dorothy Peterman; grandfather of Megan (Tim) Cesaretti of Bridgeville and Susan (Steve) Harsh of Fairfax, VA; great-grandfather of Scott, John and Katie; also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was life member of Dallas Lodge #508, F. & A.M., Consistory and the Shrine. He was a violinist with the Pgh. Symphony under the direction of Fritz Reiner from 1936 to 1943. He was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, stationed in Iceland from 1943 to 1946. He was the director of handbells for many years at Homestead Park United Methodist Church and was employed by Jefferson Memorial Park for 32 years as director of the Family Services Department. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, where service will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Park.
