John Guilmette, Jr.

John Guilmette, Jr., age 72, of Tiverton, RI; passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of Susan L. (Hancock) Guilmette.

John was born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late John and Otilia (Roderick) Guilmette. John was a veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army for more than 20 years. He was a taxi driver and a dispatcher for Town Taxi in Fall River.  John loved spending time with his family. He was a professional bowler and even coached children to bowl; bowling was his life.  He also loved fishing at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.

Besides his wife Susan of 27 years, John is survived eight children, Mark Guilmette of New Bedford, Daniel Guilmette of Fall River, Lorie Harris and her husband Eric of Fall River, Sherry Rose and her husband Peter of New Bedford, Nakita Guilmette of Tiverton, Sarah Guilmette of Tiverton; step-son, Bryan Benoit and wife Solange of Tiverton and step-daughter, Tabitha Allen of Tiverton.  He was the brother of Roger Guilmette and his wife Diane of Fall River, Joseph Guilmette and his wife Cheryl of Fall River, Jacqueline Guilmette of Fall River, and the late Linda Guilmette and Michelle Hersey. He also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also was the father to the late Melissa Guilmette­­-Afonso.

Private cremation is entrusted with the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA.  Please offer your condolences or a memory of John in our guestbook.
