Condolences to Debra and Brent. You all were always very kind and inspiring to David and me. David is gone now and I am sure he would join me in wishing you well during this time of change and transition. May God give you the support and comfort that only He can give.

John Lie-Nielsen was a precious human being. His presence in the world made such a difference. Although I only got to know him later in life, he made me a better doctor, human and person by demonstrating his gratitude, hope and perseverance.

I worked at Johnstown for 6 years in the 1980's, and always found John Lie-Nielsen to be a kind and fair man. Foundational experiences gained there helped me a great deal in my professional career, and I found friends who I have stayed connected to for over 40 years.

John was an engaging, professional and considerate man. I very much enjoyed meeting with him over the years in Florida and Georgia as we talked about our alma mater and the students we serve at Berry College. I learned much from John during our encounters and I'm very grateful for all he has done for Berry. Job well done, John Lie-Nielsen. W. Rufus Massey, Jr., Dean of Student Work Emeritus, Berry College.

John was a very unique individual. I had the opportunity to work with him decades ago. His entrepreneurial spirit will be missed. I believe him to be one of Berry's most successful graduates. "Cry not that I am gone but be thankful that I was!" - an ole Hebrew profit. Dale D. Cummings '66A

We at Berry College are very saddened to learn of John's passing. A proud alumnus of Berry High School, Class of 1954, John embodied the values and principles instilled during his time at Berry-especially his entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and work ethic.
Through the John Lie-Nielsen Gate of Opportunity Scholarship he established, John made it possible for others to attend Berry and follow in his footsteps. We are grateful for his generosity, which will continue to shape the lives of future students.
John´s legacy is one we will hold close to our hearts. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, and to all whose lives were touched by his remarkable journey. He will be deeply missed.

I had the privilege of working with Lee; his vision and creativity will be sorely missed. My condolences to Deb and his children and grandchildren as well as his employees, many who have been with him for decades.
