My condolences to the bereaved. I did not know him at all, or even his work until recently, but am beginning to consider that he may be remembered as an axiological version of Copernicus, in noting what has always been true in the face of mass delusion.

Dear John:
Thank you for letting me translate into Spanish your seminal work: "The Cancer Stage of Capitalism. From Crisis to Cure".
I learned out of every message exchanges we had through recent years.
We will keep your legacy for life on Earth.

How can I begin to express my gratitude, dearest John? Walked into your classroom in 1980 and it changed me, forever; changed my value-system and gifted me constructs that have informed me during my best and worst challenges. Your meta-essentialist world view will challenge and inform, forever. Know you are dancing in eternity's sunrise, my beautiful friend, teacher, father/brother and fellow inquirer. My love to the McMurtry family.

My deepest sympathies to Tearney, JJ, Matthew, Elana and Jennifer. John was an absolute one of a kind! He was the first philosopher I ever met, and his politics still influence my thinking today. I will remember him fondly and am honoured to raise a glass to his very accomplished life. It is comforting to hear that his end journey was peaceful and at home. Much love, Bonnie
