John Mullin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 1, 2020.
John Vincent Mullin September 2, 1931 - May 1, 2020 John Mullin lived a fulfilling life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He grew up in Chicago with his siblings (Joseph, Fr. Edward, Elizabeth, Francis and Mary Jo) where he gained his love for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. In his twenties, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his service duties he graduated from DePaul University. He then found the love of his life, Joanne. They had 3 beautiful children (Sean, Kathleen, Michael) that later brought 3 grandchildren (John, Nicole, Brittany) and 2 great grandchildren (Easton, Colton). John enjoyed the simple things in life. A day on the golf course was a day well spent. He was a great story teller and loved talking about his childhood. He was friendly, loving, caring and stubborn. His favorite thing was to be with his family. His gentle heart and warm smile touched so many lives and his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego, IL. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project.

I think of the fond memories of being at John's parents house, Bridget & Joe Mullin's place over on Marshield Avenue, and the lively discussion that went on between John, My Dad, patriarch Joe, Francis and Father Ed and the ever present Pabst Blue Ribbon. All wonderful loving people. God Bless them all. John has joined them in the peace he so truly deserves. He will always be in my prayers.
