PAETKAU _ John January 8, 1936 - July 27, 2004 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Paetkau on July 27, 2004 in his home in Calgary. He is survived by his children, Tim (Teri) Paetkau, Trish (Norm) Palardy and Kat Sharpen; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Peter Paetkau, Henry (Alice) Paetkau; and his sister Helen Penner. John was born in Chortitza, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1949. His family settled in the Rosemary area. John attended school in Rosemary and then Rosthern Jr. College in Saskatchewan in the mid-1950's. He met his wife to be in Saskatoon and in 1959 they settled in Calgary. John was a mechanic and in time had his own garage. In the late 1970's he changed professions and worked in the oil and gas industry. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Services to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's name may be made directly to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (6007 - 1A Street S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 0G5).
