Gilford-----John J. Rigney, Jr., 86, of October Lane died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Franklin Regional Hospital.

GILFORD - John J. Rigney, Jr., 86, of October Lane died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Franklin Regional Hospital.

John was born on September 16, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Margaret (Holleran) and John J. Rigney, Sr. He had been a resident of Gilford since 1965. John was a veteran of the United States Army from 1952-1954.

John was a Federal Agent for the US Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service till he retired in December, 1993.

John liked collecting nautical antiques and stamps, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Janet E. (Crooker) Rigney, of Gilford, two daughters, Diane C. LaBrie and her husband, Zachary, of Sanbornton and Janine M. Rigney and her partner, Blaine LeClerc, of Franklin, a grandchild Teagan LaBrie and a brother-in-law, Henri St. Jean. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a sister, Mary St. Jean.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, Manchester, NH.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Animal Shelter, PO Box 265, Franklin, NH 03235-0265.
