Johnny WorthyDecember 27, 1945 - October 6, 2009Mr. Johnny Worthy, Sr. age 63, a former resident of Live Oak, and a resident of Hamilton County, FL; passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the V.A. Medical Center, Gainesville, FL; after an extended illness. He attended New Douglass high school and graduated in the class of 1966. He was a member of Greater New Bethel A.M.E. Church, Rev. Charles Burke, Pastor. Survivors, A loving mother, Mrs. Mae Ola Worthy, Live Oak; four children, Ms. Velissia Worthy, Johnny Worthy, Jr. and wife (Aricia), Ms. Belinda Worthy, all of Monroe, NC; Ms. Knitalya Worthy, Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-daughters, Lakasia Portee-Jones and Lakesha Portee, both of Lake City, FL; four sisters, Bessie Smart, Mary Khon, Iris Worthy and Jackie Worthy; one brother, Randy Worthy; ten grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends, very special friend, Ms. Sandra Bailey, of Lake City, FL.Funeral Services for Mr. Johnny Worthy will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Rev.Charles Graham, pastor, Rev. Clifton Riley, officiating. Burial will be in the Family Washington cemetery. Thomas Funeral Home of Live Oak, in charge of all arrangements.
