Jordan Galvin-Jutras

Jordan Galvin-Jutras, a fire science student at Anna Maria College, passed unexpectedly on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the age of 19.

Jordan is survived by his parents Shonta Galvin and Jose Jutras; sisters Danalyn Galvin-Gonsalves, Janea Gracia, and Alyssa Jutras; brothers Steven Gonsalves Jr., and Arthur Jutras; maternal grandparents Adeline (Mimi) Galvin, and Dana (Papa) Galvin, Sr.; paternal grandmother Patricia Jutras; his maternal great-grandmother Regina Ewing; maternal great-grandmother Mabel Galvin; paternal great-grandfather Arthur (Bebo) Ireland; his aunt Fabrina Galvin; and cousins Serenity Dixon and Alexyss Galvin, and many more. While Jordan's Uncle Dana Galvin, Jr., passed away on June 4, 2000, he was also a major part of his life and remained strong in his heart, memory and mind.

Jordan was born in Hyannis, MA on May 1, 1997. He graduated from Barnstable High School in 2015 and was entering into his sophomore year of college. Throughout his high school years he enjoyed playing for the AAU Basketball League, the Red Raiders Football team, and an assortment of local private basketball teams.

For Jordan, working was also an integral part of his life and he not only interned at the Centerville, Osterville, and Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire Department; he also worked at the Craigville Beach Club, a restaurant inside The Craigville Beach Association; and Fresh Ketch, a seasonal Hyannis restaurant where he worked as a cook, occasional bookkeeper, a waiter and in food expedition, along with his mentor Steve Roy. While Jordan enjoyed each and every experience, his main goal was to eventually work as a fire fighter and serve his community and the people of Cape Cod.

Throughout his life, his family remembers Jordan as an extremely loyal, compassionate and humble young man. Not only was he known for being respectful, trustworthy and honest, he also put everyone before himself and made those around him feel like they were an important part of his life. Whether it was an acquaintance, a long-time friend, or a family member, Jordan was always extremely family oriented and welcomed everyone into his heart. While he remained passionate and sincere about everything he did, he was also known for his humor, and joking manner, which put anyone and everyone at ease.

He will be missed…but as he would say, not just a simple goodbye or see you later...but "Peaceoo."

Visitation will be held from 9- 11AM Wednesday November 2nd with a funeral service to follow 11-12noon, at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, MA. Burial will follow at Oak Neck Cemetery.
