Jose Gastón Apodaca was born in Sonora, Mexico to Gastón and Josefina. He passed away in Rancho Cucamonga, California on September 15, 2020 at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his mother, Josefina Apodaca; one son, Jose Apodaca, Jr.; three daughters: Lisa Greenwood, Veronica Glenn, and Vanessa Cornell; one brother, Eduardo; and three sisters: Margarita, Martha, and Maria (Concha) . He is also survived by nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jose Gastón was preceded in death by his father, Gastón; one sister, Georgina; and one brother, Jose (Kachuy). Jose Gastón worked as a groundskeeper for Desert Sands Unified School District, the City of Cathedral City, and was also self-employed. He met his wife, Sherry, while working at the School District. He was a hard-working, dedicated man. Jose Gastón was always willing to help family and friends with anything they needed. Jose Gastón loved his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Jose. As the principal of Earhart, I enjoyed talking to him when he was on site. The twinkle in his eyes and the ready smile was always something I looked forward to. May the family heal through his wonderful memories. Prayers for the family.

Tio, you are truly missed by so many. You and I had such a bond almost like father and daughter. Playing loteria was all but laughs from you and I, asta enfadavamos a los demas, we just understood each other ❤.
