1938-2017
Joseph (Joe) M. Abrams died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on October 2, 2017 of complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was 79. Joe is pre-deceased by his father, Benjamin Abrams, his mother, Claire Abrams, and his brother, Robert Abrams. He is survived by his wife, Coni Abrams, children Jennifer McKeever, Duncan (Colleen) McKeever, Wendy (Andrew) Franz, Debbie (Buddy) Dunn, and grandchildren, Kelsi (Michael) McCormack, Harry Franz, David, Emily, and Brad Dunn, William (Stephanie) McKeever, Courtney, Patrick, and Catherine McKeever, his brother Alex (Marlene) Abrams, nephews Mark, Scott, Michael, and David Abrams.
Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Joe graduated from Pace University in 1961. After establishing his own business, in 1979, he donned a cowboy hat and moved permanently to Houston, Texas to be with the love of his life, Coni, and her 4 children, whom he cherished. An avid snow skier, tennis player, and golfer, Joe never met a person he couldn't befriend, or a spirit he couldn't lift.
Joe and his family are grateful for the loving care provided by Betty Williams, housekeeper and friend for 34 years. Special thanks to Edwin Gomez, nurse with Vantage Hospice, and staff from the Concierge.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Contributions in his memory can be made to ChildFund or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research..

Rest in peace Joe, a man full of life and love, a man that taught me so much about the working world, a man who cared for everyone. He was truly remarkable in every way, thanks for everything you did for me, you will never be forgotten.

I'm so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man. We shared the same birthday party at work for ten years. He will be so missed. Coni, you were the light of his life and to Wendy and family, he loved you all even more. Please know your whole family and mine will always remember him for all he had done for us.
