Joseph C. Bass

Dr. Joseph C. Bass of Jupiter died Friday, July 10. He was a native of Claremont, N.H., and lived in Jupiter since 1986. Before retiring in 1986, he was a solo practitioner in obstetrics and gynecology, first in Framingham, Mass., and then at Baptist Hospital and South Miami Hospital. He received his B.A. from Columbia College in 1962 and his M.D. degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1966. He enjoyed playing golf at Admirals Cove and at his summer home in Quechee, Vt. Survivors include his wife of almost 42 years, Barbara Branstatter Bass; two daughters , Elisa and Robyn; two sons-in-law David and Brad; a sister, Barbara Sacks; and four grandsons. A private family gathering was conducted at his home. An additional service will be at a later date to celebrate his life.
