Mr C was my elementary school substitute he was always welcoming and helped raise a fine family , which I had the honor in my childhood to play with the boy matt Chris Kyle, we played sports sun up to sun down grace street park playground was where we balled. My deepest condolences to all. Also Mary Ellen had such a calming voice when I got a chance to talk to her. The plot section wouldn't be the same without the cardomones and company. I got to sit down with Mr c and friends last time I drove by and he invited me and of course with a guy who had such a good heart I was happy to sit down with our neighbors

The Cardamone Family is as close to me as any neighbors and friends can be. I regret hearing of Joe's passing and pass along my sincerest sympathy to his wife and children. Also, to Jimmy, my friend and class-mate through the years of growing-up to graduation from Tech in '62, and Jim and Joe's brother Dominick, whom influenced all of us greatly. A generation of our families spent the beginning of our lives in the "Bulls Head" section of Scranton. Farewell to a member of a very special brand of Italian-Americans who lived to make a lot of people happy and proud!

Joe, the memories we have of you are awesome. My Dad, Al Sakovich, was your dearly beloved mentor and mourns your loss so much on his 89 th birthday. I am his eldest daughter, Joanne, and YOU, just being a nice guy, turned me in to the dad as I cut my last class at South Catholic to go and see my boyfriend from Prep pitch against THS.. I was in so much trouble when I got home, because YOU just happened to spot Cheryl and me at the Kresge's soda fountain passing by. UGH! Lotsa laughs now, but all our memories of you are so heartwarming and belly laugh funny... RIP... Sweet man.

'Baseball Joe' - a solid STHS student-athlete and an all-around standup guy. Being a few years younger I knew of you a lot more than I actually knew you, but definitely looked up to you as a person with many admirable qualities. Individuals like you who remained true to their roots by sticking around Scranton and the region deserve special plaudits for your essential and selfless contributions without which our NEPA communities would not endure. Godspeed, paison.

I met Joe when we were both "non-traditional" students at The University of Scranton in the late 70s and early 80s and we graduated together in the class of '81. There are not many non-traditional students who fall in with a group of friends, but there were six or seven of us, including Joe's wonderful wife Mary Ellen, who studied and hung out together when we weren't working. Joe, with his larger than life smile and personality, was the one who brought and kept us together at that time. I'm thankful that we reconnected during his mayoral bid last year and were able to talk about the great times we had back then. RIP my friend! My deepest condolences to you and your family, Mary Ellen.
