Dye Joseph "Joey" Roger Dye, age 23, of Draper, VA, formerly of Bastian, VA, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012. He was born on February 3, 1989 in Bluefield, WV and was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Farley and Phyllis Vance and paternal step grandfather, Lauchie Taylor. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Jennifer Dye of Draper, VA; daughter "daddy's little girl", Hope Dye; mother and step-father, Beverly and Oliver Cardin of Maryville, TN; father and step-mother, Pete and Anita Dye of Bastian, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Tracey and Leroy Dowdy of Bastian and their children, Paige and Sierra ; step-brothers, Jared and Brady Dillow; step-sister, Natasha Cardin; paternal grandparents, Willis Dye and Maxine Taylor; aunts and uncles , Sharon and Mike Earnest, Susan and Ernie Shelton, Michelle and Todd Havens, Dreama and Terry Neal, Cindy and Danny Havens, Edie May and Paul Looney, Jimmy and Teresa Dye; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and George Lawrence. Several cousins also survive. Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Paul Looney officiating. The family received friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in honor of Joey's infant daughter, Hope. Donations may be sent to BB&T c/o Vickie Kitts, P.O. Box 279, Bland, VA 24315. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.highlandfuneralservice.com Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is handling the arrangements.
