A man`s great life is of great comfort.
Our family lived across the street from Mr. Goes for approx. 10 years (1963-1972). I remember the wonderful fish pond he built in his backyard. Often I would sit and watch the giant (to me) goldfish and feel at peace. I also remember being sent to his office at Roger's Jr. High and he was strict, but with kindness and understanding. May your family find peace in your time of sorrow.

I was a student at Rogers Jr Highschool from 1971 to 1974 Mr Gose was our principal.
He kept us kids in line but he was a fair and compassiont man. He loved his school kids and always found time to talk to all of us and knew our first names.
I remember he always would make announcments over the P.A system every school morning to encourage us to do our best.
After every football game we won he would also ring a cow bell much to our delight.
He organized many student activities on his own time like the ecology club, It was a long time ago and most of our teachers from that time are gone but I have many good memories of Rogers Jr High and Mr Gose and his vice principal Mr Lieb.
I went on to become a San Antonio police officer in 1980 to today. Many years later I ran into Mr Gose at the SAISD Main office and he still remembered my first name.

Mr. Goose was my first principal in 1968, and he taught me so much. If we were not going to be in school due to illness, we had to call him that morning and explain exactly why! Although he was a very strict principal, he knew how to enjoy his faculty and staff at our parties at Christmas or at the Knights of Columbus hall. We all had so much fun, and he loved those parties! As a first year teacher, he was exactly what I needed, and I have never forgotten him. My thoughts are with all of you. Evelyn Darby Jacobs

My brothers & I attended Rogers while Mr. Gose was principal & my mom worked for him as secretary before he moved to Central Office, always remember him as someone who valued our education above all, when heading for Christmas break he would make a loud speaker announcement to staff that they should assign lots of homework esp term papers so we could keep up our studies during the break! I always hated that reminder but he had our education always upmost in his plans for us all to attend college & make something of ourselves, bless him for that!

How well I remember Mr. Gose when I taught at Rogers Junior High School in the early 1970's. He was an outstanding principal and an excellent role model as an educator.

I was a student at Rogers Middle School when Mr. Gose was Principal. He was highly thought of by my family. I also had the good fortune of being friends with his daughter Martha. I hope the family finds comfort with their memories of him. Becky Goss Collins

My prayers are with the Gose Family at this time of great sorrow. Mr. Gose was our Principal at Rogers Jr High and he always treated us with fairness, respect and the board of education when necessary. May you rest in peace. The ninth grade class of 1972.

I remember Mr. Gose as my principal at Rogers Middle School. He 'saw' each student and was personally attentive to any need they have. that was a LONG time ago - attended there the first year it opened as partial elementary school, and returned for 7th, 8th and 9th. - but I remember him to this day. I'm sure his family is feeling a great loss of this very special man. Candy Hajek
