Aunt Bern, Stacie, Blaise and Michelle (girls),

How much it hurts to know Uncle Joe is gone and not here to make his great puns about the Steelers. His seat is great in Heaven now. I'll always remember the great christmas days at Grandma's house and the 'grab bags' - remember the boxing gloves? Uncle Joe said, 'Bern, what were you thinking, giving boys gloves - at least they are protected!" Loved it and all the laughes we had with him. It hardens my heart knowing he's gone. You are all in my prayers and hope to give a big hug very soon - that I owe you all!

Love,

Donna and Corky Betlan

To the Grese Family,

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Joe. Ralph worked with Joe for many years at Westinghouse Glassport. Our memories of Joe will be from those years as we know most recently his struggles were great. May all the love from your family and friends give you strength forever as you continue your life’s journey without him by your side but rather with him in your hearts and memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you today as you lay him to rest. We hope time can heal your sadness.

Not too many men are as fine a gentleman as was Joe Grese. His surprising illness and subsequent passing at such an early age saddens all of us.

Our deepest sympathies to his lovely wife Bernadette who looked after him so well, to our Blaise and Michelle, beautiful Staci and to the extended Grese family we have come to love.

We missed Joe at his namesake's Christening only a few days earlier, but how happy he had to be to know that before going to meet his Maker, there were two darling little angels here on Earth to help carry on his name and life, Alayna and Alexis Jo!

Vjecnaja Pamjat. Memory Eternal to Joe Grese, a wonderful, very kind, one-of-a-kind man!

Bernadette,
I remember Jo when we were growing up. Gertie & Wilbur Canter lived next door to them and my brother,John Gulbine and his family, lived across the street from the Grese family. I spent many summers and weekends up there and remember the Grese family as very special people. You and I went to St. Mary's together and I cherish our times there as well.
Please know that I hold you and your family in prayer. I hope that your wonderful memories will carry you through these unbelievably difficult times. God Bless you.

Mr Grese was such a great man! However he does live on, I see a lot of him in Blaise and that's why he's a best friend of mine! Blaise just doesn't yell when I eat his spagetti! Ha! I love you guys, you have my deepest sympathy...

My deepest sympathy, Bernadette and family. You have the support of so many, if you need it. But if you can, put your trust in God and "your inner strength". Smile, and remember the love, and all the good times shared. He is not gone from you, but now healed and watching over you. He will always be near. Jo-Jo has left a part of himself, with each of you, to hold dear forever more.
Sincerely~ Peace, love & friendship

Grese Family,
Jennifer, Mary and I wish to send our deepest sympathy at this tragic time. We should not mourn long but smile broadly when we think upon how he affected our lives. One of my fondest memories as a kid involved, JoJo, a steak, and a curfew. No one needs to look long to see his impact on life. His wife and children are a wonderful example of how he paid it forward. I will never forget Mr. Grese. How can one forget those they treasure? In this time of grief and sorrow, please think of your memories. God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.

Love and sympathy,
-John Jr., Jennifer, and Mary
