JOSEPH MIELE Obituary
Passed away peacefully on October 10, 2014, at age 96. Beloved husband of the late Josephine "Shorty" Miele. Joe and Shorty were married in 1939 and spent 73 wonderful years together. Joe is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Joanne Borgesi; son-in-law, Joe; grandson, Jason Borgesi and wife, Mary; granddaughter, Jennifer Alessandro and husband, Joe; and three great-grandchildren, Jake, Maggie and RJ Borgesi; brother of Jean Cestra, Yolanda "Babe" Bauer and the late Steve, Tony, Mary Goril, Frank, Helen Macioce, and Fred Miele. Pap Pap was always kind, always loving, and always captivating audiences with his storytelling. He learned to drive at the age of 12, so it was no surprise that later in life he became a truck driver. He was also a proud WWII Veteran, laying communication lines across France. Friends received at the BAGNATO FUNERAL HOME, Jefferson St., Carnegie, Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in SS Simon and Jude church Monday at noon. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org, add a tribute at:

Remembering Joe as a kind and gentle man who was my neighbor for 16 years. Joe loved to go to breakfast with his friends in the condo.

Though I am very sad that our family lost a wonderful man, my heart smiles knowing Uncle Joe is with his beloved "Shorty". Uncle Joe was the example of what a good man should be; a wonderful brother, uncle, Christian and all around good person as well as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Uncle Joe had a gleaming smile and warm, comforting eyes. I loved every moment I spent with him. He always made me laugh with his corny jokes and unbelievable stories. He will be missed by many. My condolences to Joanne, Joe and the entire family. Uncle Joe leaves me with a warm heart and many wonderful memories. Rest in Peace Uncle Joe
