ENGLEWOOD - Joseph Wayne Monroe, 43, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 20, 2015.
Born on July 7, 1971, in Winter Haven, Florida he had been a life long resident of Englewood, graduating from Lemon Bay High School. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the S.W. Florida Sportsman Club. Joe was a sales representative for JJ Taylor Distributors of Ft. Myers.
A good friend to all, he was the type of man who will give the shirt off his back, and if he couldn't do that, he would buy you one. He was a devout husband and family man who loved his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe is predeceased by a brother, Brian Lee in 2007. Survivors include his loving wife, Traci C.; and son, Sidney James; parents, Bud and Linda Monroe all of Englewood, FL; one sister, Kimberly Hughes of Campbellsville, KY.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road, from 3 PM until 6:30 PM at which time friends and family will be able to verbally share memories in remembrance of Joe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney James Monroe Account 1000185561700, c/o Sun Trust Bank, 2931 South McCall Road, Englewood, FL 34224.
Englewood Community Funeral Home with private crematory has been selected to handle arrangements. You may share a memory with the family at www. englew-oodfh.com .

I never met this gentleman however have often heard one of my best friends refer to Joe as his guardian angel. My friend was in a motorcycle accident on Memorial day 2015 and Joe selfishly held his hand in the pouring rain in the middle of the street reassuring him everything was going to be alright...then to find out he passed away days later gave me goosebumps because Randy called him his guardian angel from day one...now we know he really was. He was meant to be there that day looking after my best friend...and I still believe he is today...Thank you Joe for you kindness in life...please RIP Guardian Angel

Very sad to hear of his loss. I will always remember Joey as a funny guy who enjoyed life, he was a good man and teammate throughout school. He will be missed! May god watch over his family and place Angel Wings on him allowing him to watch over the lost as he could always find the good in someone!
