My name is Margie Mays Lester. My father, Joe Allen Mays, also worked on the West TN Agriculture Experiment Stations. I lived on the Station until I was 1976. I thought the world of Mr. Joe Overton! He worked in the Greenhouse next door to my house. His daughter and I were friends! I still live in Jackson and work at JSCC. The family were blessed to have their Father as long as they did! I am sorry for you loss!Love, Margie

I well remember meeting with Mr. Joe during my interview and I took a liking to him immediately. We had many laughs and enjoyable times working together and then each time we met after his retirement. I will cherish the memories and while I know that you are sadden like all of us, yet we rejoice in knowing that he has received his eternal reward and is rejoicing in heaven.
