I just learned about Joe yesterday 5-26. I worked with Joe at Sears in the late 80's. Because Joe could always make me laugh, I kept in touch with him up until recently by stopping into Sears and chatting. Joe loved to discuss sports and politics and never shyed away from a stirring debate. The debates were never boring with him as we would needle each other back and forth. He could take a jab and give back a few himself. Always with a big smile though.
Joe you will be missed. Thanks for all the laughs buddy.

To the Simonet Family. I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. We sat next to each other in classes @ Stillwater and always had fun. The Lord must have needed a good guy in heaven. Marshall

Dear Simonet Family,
We were so saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Joe and I attended St. Mike's together for 8 years. We would run into him at Sears now and then and were always impressed with what a warm person he was. May God's love bring you comfort.

Dear Simonets,
I am saddened by Joe's passing. I have not seen Joe since Mary and I were in college, but have many fond memories of sitting around the kitchen (probably making 7-layer bars) and Joe making us laugh. He always took the time to talk to us. You are all in my prayers.

Im sorry for your loss but I know your family is very close and together you all will make it through this tough time. I never met Joe, but Kellie and Mary told me stories about how great of a person he was and how he always made everyone laugh. Sounds like a great guy from all I have heard and he will be missed!

He will be missed! Joe touched so many lives at Sears. His dedicated service to his customers and loyalty to the company will be greatly missed. His friendship touched many hearts of fellow associates. He had a heart of gold and a radiant smile that he greeted us with daily, when he walked into the store with his lunch bag in hand. I will miss him saying, "what's with that?", or bringing a shopping cart indoors, just because he cared. We were blessed to work with Joe at Sears. His Sears family will miss him! My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this difficult time.

It was a pleasure knowing joe. He always showed an interest in other people. After a death in my own family he would ask how things were, and on the anniversary of the death he still remembered. Joe always said Hi and was in a good mood. He was a great guy. Know that there are many of us who will miss him.

Dear Mr and Mrs Simonet and family,
Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Although I hadn't seen Joe in many years I kept track of him through mom and whenever Joe's name was mentioned I always felt a warm spot in my heart. My fond memories of growing up with all of you will remain with me forever.
With love and deep sympathy,

Dear Ed and Elaine,
It's always difficult to lose someone you care about, but no more so than for a parent to lose a child. Joe always had a way of focusing in on anyone he talked with that made them feel like he really, really cared what they had to say--at least that was my experience whenever I met Joe at the club or around Stillwater. I never saw him when he wasn't positive--and always polite and respectful. My condolences.
