Age 90, of Monroeville, PA, formerly of Johnstown, PA went to be with the Lord with her family by her side on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Beloved wife and high school sweetheart of 65 years to Robert J. Calik; loving mother of Brian Calik; cherished grandmother of Benjamin A. Calik and Hillary A. Calik; sister of Catherine Farkas, Mildred Walters, and Joseph Kolar; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Frank, and John; and one sister, Ann. Josie became a home decorator and also assistant day care director. She worked as a sales associate in women's fashion. She had a very energetic approach to life. She was a great cook and baker; no visitors ever left hungry! She was kind and generous. Josie loved working outdoors--landscaping, and gardening with her husband. She loved her grandchildren. She supported her husband in his career as they moved and lived in six states and the District of Columbia. Arrangements entrusted to JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE / PLUM CHAPEL), corner of Beatty Rd. & 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). As per Josie's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at North American Martyrs Church. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
