Josephine Mae Cox (95) of Greenwood, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025. Josephine was lucky to spend her entire life living at home except for the last few weeks of her life. She was born on December 13, 1929 as Josephine Mae Ross in Bartholomew County. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Emma Ross, siblings Wilbur Ross, Raymond Ross, Mayme Christian, and husband of 50 years Elmer Cox.

Josephine loved her family. She had 3 children: Regina Smith, LaDonna Fry, and Mark Cox (Monica). She had 4 grandchildren: Lori Walsh(Mark), Angie Hranowsky, Chris Fry (Leah), and Jordan Cox (Olivia). She had 5 great grandchildren, Katie and Alex Walsh, LouLou and Sasha Hranowsky, and Savannah Fry.

Josephine worked at Stokely Van Camp, Emmerich Manual High School Cafeteria, and was an independent tax filer during the tax season. She was active in church her entire life. She was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Josephine loved playing games, reading, and working in the yard. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family in the upcoming weeks. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church-200 Sunset Blvd., Greenwood, IN 46142.
