Judith Brandt Obituary

Published by Naperville Sun from Mar. 24 to Mar. 25, 2016.
Mrs. Judith Marie Brandt (née Sande), of Green Valley, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the age of 73. Judy was born to parents Evan and Marion Sande on April 14, 1942 in Northfield, MN. She grew up an only child with a stepsister, LueVonne, and stepbrother, Terry. She attended school in Northfield and graduated from Northfield Senior High School. In 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald (Jerry) Brandt, and the couple had two children, Michael and Michelle. Michael married Cindy Kallan in 1990 and had two children, Samantha (22) and Katie (21). Michelle married Stephen Swiatek in 1989 and had five children, Evan (22), Jacob (20), Benjamin (17), Allison (14) and Samuel (14). Judy was active in theater at the Northfield Arts Guild where she played many roles, most notably Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Cindy in Jesse. In addition, she taught tap dance to children and sang in church choirs and madrigal groups for more than 65 years. In 1983, Jerry and Judy moved to Naperville, IL where Judy began working at Estee Lauder, initially in department stores and later in their Chicago offices. After 10 years of commuting, she decided to work closer to home and became Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor at their church, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. In 2013, Judy and Jerry decided they had enough of the winter weather and moved to Green Valley, AZ to live out their retirement years. Judy is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Gerald Brandt, her daughter, Michelle Swiatek (Stephen), and a daughter in law Cindy Brandt (Kallan); a stepsister, LueVonne (Sande) Ringrose (Don); she was blessed with seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Brandt, her mother, Marion Sande (Vosejpka), her father Evan Sande and her stepbrother, Terry Sande. Two memorial services will be held following Judy's cremation. One at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, Green Valley, AZ on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00pm. The second memorial service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Naperville, IL on Thursday, March 31, 2016 with a Visitation at 10:00 am followed by the memorial service at 11:00 am. A light luncheon will follow the service. The family is grateful for the condolences, but would appreciate no cut flowers or floral displays. Donations for the Green Valley, AZ Memorial Service should be sent to Desert Hills Lutheran Church. Donations for the Naperville, IL Memorial Service should be sent to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Always joyful and always shining for Jesus! She will be missed here on earth but we will see her again. She is not lost, we know exactly where she is.
