Julia Cummings Obituary
Julia was born on April 29, 1909, in St. Joseph, to John Foster and Ada Lee Jeffries.
She and her husband Worthy owned and operated the King Hill Drive Inn from the 1940s thru the 1960s. She later worked at the St. Joseph State hospital, where she was in charge of the Re-motivation Department. She retired in July of 1975.
She was a member of the King Hill Christian Church and a past member of the Eastern Star.
She married Worthy H. Cummings, Sr., on Aug. 29, 1926, in Hiawatha, Kan. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1990.
She was also preceded by her parents; five sisters; and six brothers.
She is survived by her children, Julia Lee Hoskins, St. Joseph, Worthy H. Cummings, Jr. Lakewood, Colo.; six grandchildren, Allison Thorne, Cheryl Wise, Andria Anderson, Colleen Little, Damon Cummings, Worthy Cummings, III; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service: 3 p.m. Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family suggests memorials to the King Hill Christian Church.

Julia was such a warm person. She seemed to find humor in the goings on around her. I'm sorry for your loss and for the loss to everybody who knew her.
