Justin Alexander Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2010.

MARSHALL - Funeral services for Justin Kaleb Alexander, of DeBerry, will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010, at 2 p.m., at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home with Chaplain Whitaker and Bro. Gary E. Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Panola County. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., today, September 23, 2010 at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Kaleb passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010, in Marshall. He was born November 30, 1982 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Gary Wayne and Penny Jane Hale Alexander.

Kaleb was a loving son and father to a beautiful little girl, Lola Rose. He loved music and making people laugh. He was loved and cherished by many and will be missed more than he will ever know. We were blessed to have such a special child in our lives, if only for a short time. His family would like to thank all the special and caring people in their lives, that have helped the Lord carry them through his death. A very special thank you to Matt Ware. You were like a brother to him, and he loved you. The Lord had recently come into his heart and took him home to a place where he now fits perfectly.

Justin is survived by his mother and stepfather, Penny and Ty Langston; his father and stepmother, Gary and Rhonda Alexander; his daughter, Lola Rose Alexander; and her mother, Angela Burton; brothers and sisters, Noah Langston, Mackenzie Alexander, Luke Alexander, Morgan Chiles and Mallory Driskell; grandparents, Wayne and Doris Lankford of Vivian, Louisiana, and Neal and Joyce Alexander of Vivian, Louisiana; stepgrandparents, Jimmie and Kate Langston of DeBerry, Texas; and many other family members and friends who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John A. Hale; and great-grandparents, Odell and Corine Alexander.

Pallbearers will be Matt Ware, Hickory VanWinkle, James Koopman, Robert Morris, Tanner Daniel and Joey Inman. Honorary pallbearer will be Noah Langston.

Kaleb was a wonderful person who will be missed everyday. My heart feels broken and as if theres a hole there.I wish so bad that I could have seen him, just one last time and hugged him so tight and told him that I loved him so much! I wish I could have been there for him more and spent more time with him.He made such a difference in so many peoples lives and the sad thing is,is he never knew it! I don't know how long this emptiness and sadness in my heart will last but I do know that I will miss Kaleb and think of him for the rest of my life and when my life is over,I will be looking for him to give him that big hug and kiss that I wish I could have given him before he left us.

To the family of Gary Alexander, and Penny. Mattie Shelton (my mother-in-law). always told me that there was no pain worse than loosing a child. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair when we lose someone so dear to us, but we have to believe in our hearts that God had a plan for us, and it's not for us to question what or why. I have always believed that if I left this world today, then I would be in a better place than everyone else. I hope and pray that I never have to suffer and feel the heartache you are feeling right now, because it just seems like our children are supposed to outlive their parents and grandparents. Dwaine and I live next door to Neil and Joyce, and I can remember Kaleb sitting on there back porch playing the guitar with Coty. Kaleb was a fine goodlooking man, and just know that our thoughts and prayers go out to each of you. We didn't know him that well, but it's like he was our family too, because Joyce talked of him so often. Just know we love you all, and we are praying that God will find comfort for each of you in his own way in the days ahead. Love to you all.

Words almost elude me as I express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I worked with Kaleb during our morning show and have never known a man who was more eager to learn and eager to please. I was truly sorry to see him leave and regret that I did not get the chance to bid him goodbye and wish him luck with a few encouraging words. Life sometimes seems so complicated and overwhelming..so unfair. I take solace in my belief that God does not make mistakes and that there is, indeed, a Divine Plan. I pray that His comforting spirit will sustain you, kaleb's family, and his host of friends in this most difficult journey.

Sincerely,
Ron Young

Some of the best times of my life have been with Kaleb. We were instant friends and that never changed. If I would have known that last Sunday was the last time we would ever speak, I would have said a lot more.
Kaleb was a good friend to me and my family. I will miss his wit and charm. I will miss his late night texts and rants and our talks about life.
My prayers go out to Angela, Lola Rose and his entire family. There will never be anyone like Kaleb, may God give him peace.

I only worked with Kaleb for a short time, but as I told one of my bosses, "I'd take 10 Kalebs in a heartbreat .." because he could admit when he didn't know something, wasn't too prideful to ask for help and worked as hard as anyone else in the building. And needless to say, he had a very unique sense of humor. I remembering him sharing how much he loved his little girl. My prayers to Kaleb's family and little Lola.

This news was really hard to hear. Kaleb and I produced the morning news together for nearly a year. His jovial personality will certainly be missed. Through all of our disagreements, and in-depth conversations, Kaleb always left with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. I talked to Kaleb late last year when he called me at the station. You never know the last time you'll talk to a person. I am happy to say, we talked and joke like he had never left.
Your family is in my prayers, especially his little girl whom he spoke of with such amazement and love.
