Justin Bunker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2011.
Justin Bunker, 25, of Arlington completed his final earthly journey and was called home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 30, 2011, while hiking in the mountains of Bulgaria. Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Road, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts can be made to the Justin Bunker Mission Fund, in care of Pantego Christian Academy, 2201 W. Park Row, Arlington, Texas 76013, which will aid students and teachers desiring to go on mission trips. Justin was a graduate of Pantego Christian Academy and a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas. He was an avid world traveler and a defender of the Christian faith. Justin lived life to the fullest and he fulfilled God's purpose for which he was called to live. Justin's beautiful smile and love of story-telling will be missed by his family and hundreds of friends across the U.S., the Middle East and Europe. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milton and Joan Bunker, and his grandfather, Kenneth "Chunk" Helms. Survivors: Parents, Steve and Diane Bunker of Arlington; brother, Adam Bunker and wife, Brittney, with the U.S. Air Force; grandmother, Charlotte Helms of Charlotte, N.C.; extended family, Barbara "Judy" Parks of California, Nancy Parks of Africa, Stephen and Amy Parks of Texas, Katy Blan of Oklahoma, Ronny and Kelli Waller of Arizona, Steven and Jessica Waller of Oklahoma, Keith and Jane Helms, Brendon and Chelsea Helms, Matt and Hannah Smith, Erin Helms and Ken and Marti Helms, all of North Carolina, and Todd and Melinda Sander of South Carolina.

I miss you Justin. You were my brother in Christ, but even more than that, you were my best friend for 15 years.

I don't recall a single cross word exchanged between us, because that is the man of God you are- loving, forgiving, and understanding. Diane, Steve, and Adam, you raised one heck of a young man...

I know that I will see you again in the Kingdom with our Lord, but until then, you will be desperately missed by many.

I love you brother, see you again one day

Diane and Steve, We are praying for you today as we have very often over this last year. We had not seen Justin often over the last years but everyime we saw him it was a "party" with all the stories he would have to tell. He was always so excited about whatever he was doing... and did it with all his heart. May you be aware of God's loving support and comfort towards you both.

Diane and Steve,

We are holding you up in prayer this morning. We raise our sons in hopes that they will be walking epistles of Christ. Justin's example and love for the Lord will continue to cause those whose lives he touched to consider their steps. The Lord bless your family with peace and comfort.

I can't believe it's already been a year since Justin went home to be with the Lord. His laughter, smile, shenanigans, and witty stories are still so present in my memory that I can almost hear him and see his eyes twinkle! Justin, you are still in our hearts and minds encouraging all of us to live upright and passionate lives! Still missing you!

I was blessed to have Justin as a member of my cast. He was excited to be on the set of 'Deuce Of Spades' and was truly a pleasure to work with. It is hard for me to believe he has left us. But I know he is in good hands with God. I will always remember him as the 50's college kid standing behind Johnny's Deuce... We will miss you Justin! God bless you.

You made being cramped up in those tiny Gerber ambulances a fun time. The talks we had on life, love, God, ect. were some of the best discussions I've ever had. Thanks for spurring me on in the faith. David Laney (Torrance, CA)

Diane and Steve,
We are so sorry for your loss of your precious son Justin. All I could think of when I heard the news was the photo of Justin posing with his STA elementary soccer team. Diane you have been so important to my children's education in many ways - and I know you and Steve were proud of Justin and lived a great life with him. Someday perhaps we will understand why people are called home sooner than seems right to those of us left behind. I know your faith will be your strength.

The wonderful time it truly was knowing Justin was such an honor. I know he is having the time of the rest of his eternal life with our Lord and Savior! I can't wait to see Justin again :) I can't agree more that he did indeed live his life to the fullest. From the time I knew Justin, I could instantly see how he was such a solid, strong-willed man, who definitely put others before him and always had God as his anchor. I extend my sympathy to the Bunker family and will be praying for you all.

My deepest condolences go out to Bunker family. I didn't know Justin that well but I did know that he was always smiling and in a good mood. I know he will be deeply missed by his family and friends but the one good thing is that he is with the Lord now. Rest in peace Justin.

Know "Mom" and I send our love and prayers along with many others from our churches. He is our strength. Cling to His promises. Lori

Bunker Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Justin was an amazing person, I really have no single word to best describe him. He was just his own character who we all loved dearly. He cared so much about his family and friends, he was one person you could learn something from. We missed him since the day he left California but we all know he is in a better place now. From everyone at Lazy Dog Cafe, our prayers are with you all.

Diane, Steve, and Adam, I am deeply saddened by your loss. Bailey has talked about him coming to talk with their Bible classes just this year and what a great person he was! Mr. & Mrs. Bunker and Adam: I am very sorry for your loss. Justin was such a funny, bright and out going young man. He achieved so much and all with the support of such a great family. I will never forget Justin and all of you who were a very close part of my life growing up. All of us who had the privilege of growing up with the Bunker family had such a great time being around such amazing people.

Justin's exuberance and zest for living life large will be truly missed! The joy of the Lord was his strength. May that same source fill the wells in our lives that have been drained by losing Justin too soon. I pray all who knew him will continue what Justin started by being more loving, more concerned for others, and ready to share a great story or do something silly to make this world a happier place and point the way to Christ. Justin would tell us "don't take yourselves so seriously!" Diane, Steve, Adam and Brittney, we are praying the Lord hides you under His wing right next to His heart in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing Justin with us!
