I was doing a marketing campaign for the company I work with, and noticed an Armenian last name. It triggered me to look Karen up online, as she and I had been very close friends in the early 70s in Md. I was in her family home numerous times.
I was shocked and saddened to see her obituary, and as soon as her pic popped up, those gorgeous eyes and beautiful smile of hers resonated back so many years to all our giggles. It truly seemed that we could not spend 5 minutes together without erupting into myriads of giggles, and she will remain one of my most favorite friends.
I am 69 and knew her before she married, circa 1970-73. I often wondered what became of her and was saddened that we lost touch as life and careers got in the way. Had it been in the digital age, we never would have.
My love to all who survived her, and please remember me to her mother. She might remember me. I was Suzi Trotter back then, married to her friend from U of MD, Tommy Trotter.
Love, hugs and more giggles to you, dear Karen. I know you are lighting up the spirit world with your awesome sense of humor.
Love and light,
Suzi Babbio--now

My dear Junior League friend. I'm saddened that you have left us too soon but I will delight in 2 humorous memories I have of you. One was when, I think, you were head of the training council for League - before you became President. Christmas had come and gone and yet there was your family tree in the living room! You were so passionately involved in your family and League duties that taking down the decor was way down the list. Besides, I think you enjoyed the season so much that you wanted it to last and last. That's the way of you - passionate in what you were doing and feeling.
Another time, again at Christmas. In the parking lot behind the Maid's Quarters...parking spaces were hard to find. You were driving your car looking for a parking space. I was loaded down with gifts going to my car. To the chagrin of the person driving behind you, you slowed so I could get to my car (you and I knew you couldn't stop and help me carry the stuff to my car) so I could give you my parking space. The driver behind us was not thrilled...oh well. We waved and giggled. Friends and Leaguers forever. I will miss you but I will always remember you with fondness and a smile.
