Karen Nanette "Nan" Harvey

May 6, 1957 - October 22, 2024

Nan Harvey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024. Nan was surrounded by her family, who loved her deeply and will forever cherish her memory. She was born on May 6, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Doris and Marvin West, and lived a life dedicated to her family, her faith, and her artistic passions.

Nan is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ron Harvey. Together, they raised two children, Kyle Harvey (Kendall) from Austin, TX, and Daniel Harvey (Shelby) from New Braunfels, TX. Nan was a devoted grandmother -Gigi- to Brooks and Collins Harvey and Shepard and Calahan Harvey. Nan was also a beloved sister to her brothers, Mark and Tim West, and a dear friend to many. Her presence brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. Nan was able to create so much happiness and laughter through her amazing sense of humor and wit. The joy she exuded was contagious.

A gifted art teacher, Nan had an eye for beauty and a passion for inspiring creativity in her students. She spent 26 years sharing her love of all things beautiful and faith, leaving an impact that extended far beyond her classroom. Nan's faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life, guiding her in every endeavor and providing comfort and strength to those around her. Nan's life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.

A service celebrating Nan's life will be held on November 11th at 11:30am at Houston's First Baptist Church (7401 Katy Freeway), where family and friends will gather to honor her legacy. Because of Nan's love for God's beauty she asked that those in attendance wear their favorite colored attire. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nan's memory to Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance - dedicated to Kendall Cape Harvey (curefa.org , 533 W. Uwchlan Ave., Dowington, PA 19335).
