Karen Thuy Nguyen, age 46, passed away on August 27, 2017 after a five year battle with colorectal cancer. Karen was born in Hue, Vietnam and moved to the United States when she was 20 years old.
Karen began working at A&W Printing, where she met her beloved husband, Simon Tran. They got married on November 27, 1993 and ended up having two children – Kathleen and Pauline Nguyen. Simon and Karen opened up their own seafood restaurant – Best Seafood Basket.
Karen is survived by her parents, Thuc and Le Nguyen, her husband of 22 years, Simon Tran, both of her daughters, Kathleen and Pauline Nguyen, her two sisters, Tammy and Ti Nguyen, and her two brothers, Hung and Son Nguyen.
She has impacted and inspired everyone she’s met with her charismatic personality and kind heart. Her contagious laugh and lively personality will be remembered forever.
Public visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Garden Oaks Funeral Home & Crematory, and end at 8:00pm. Visitation hours on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, will be from 8:00am – 12:00pm followed by a service.
