Katherine LENZ Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 12, 2014.
December 3, 1922 February 10, 2014 Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Kay was born and raised in Rocky Ford, Colorado and was the youngest of three daughters. Unlike many young women of her generation, Kay went on to college after high school. She used her education to work for the US Government in Edmonton, Canada during WWII. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she soon fell in love with a Navy sailor--her loving husband of 66 years, Robert Lenz. Together they lived in Hastings, MN and raised 3 children. For the past 30 years Kay has lived in Roseville. Kay was an avid reader, a skilled writer, talented bowler, and a very active member of her church throughout her life. Kay and her husband were able to travel throughout the country with the Navy reunion group, most notably to NY City and a cruise in Alaska. Kay is preceded in death by her two sisters Genevieve and Jeanette, and her husband Bob. She is survived by: her children, Michael (Bonnie), Lynette (Michael) and Roxanne (Bernie), nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Kay is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, 900 Summit Avenue, St. Paul on Friday February 14, 2014 at 11 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to go to the church. 651-645-1233

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. May memories of her carry you through this sad time.

February 12, 2014

Roxanne, Bernie, David and Sarah,
We send our love and sympathy to all of you and your family at this time.

As a kid growing up I remember chatting with your mom and dad as I spent time at your home. One memory is when you had a sleep over and your mom said, "girls this is the last time I am going to tell you to be quiet and go to sleep.". I am sure we giggled and whispered a bit longer. Thank you for sharing your mom with me.( Pam)

Love and prayers in Christ, Bob and Pam

Roxanne, Bernie, David and Sarah,
What a beautiful picture of your mom and a very nice obituary. Such fond memories I have of your folks growing up. I remember chatting with your mom when I would spend time at your house as a kid. One particular time you had a sleep over I remember your mom saying "girls, now this is the last time I will tell you it's time to go to sleep". Then we probably giggled and kept whispering for some time afterwards.
Thanks for sharing your mom with me.
Our sympathy to your entire family,
Love In Christ, Bob and Pam Bolls
