McKAY - Kathleen Pearl (Kay) April 27, 1927 - November 3, 2009 Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Surrey Memorial Hospital. Born in Vancouver to Rev. Kay was a lifelong member of the United Church, most recently at Northwood where she served in many capacities including women's units and mission outreach. While living in Surrey she was active in carpet bowling at Guildford and Sunrise Seniors' Centres and organized many tournaments including the B.C. Seniors Summer Games held in Vancouver. Kay also loved gardening, reading, music and travelling. Her caring heart and radiant smile will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Survived by her loving husband Gordon with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, daughters Donnas (David), Karen (David) and son Doug (Grace), 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Arch Paton. Predeceased by her parents and brother Gordon. Memorial service will be held at Northwood United Church, Surrey, November 26th, 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to World Vision or Northwood United Church gratefully appreciated.

Kay was my grandmother, and it is a hard adjustment realizing that I will no longer see her here on this earth. But someday I will see her in her renewed Heavnely body, and it is a blessing to know she is out of her earthly pain and suffereing now, although she is greatly missed by those of us remaining. I have so many fond memories of my grandma in the years we shared on this earth, from her constant giving personality, to her warm hugs. She was a wonderful, Godly woman, and I hope I reflect some of the many positive qualities she posessed.

Dear Gordon & Family Please accept my heartfelt sympathies at the loss of Kay. I really enjoyed Sunrise Senior dineout when Kay & I would catch up on what's been going on. I am terribly sorry I will not be able to attend the service as I will be out of town that week.
