When I was a younger man and would visit the Spencer home we were always welcome. I felt comfortable in their home. When Bro and Sis Spencer would retire for the eve, inevitably before we would leave, they turned down the thermostat. Inspite of that I have warm memories of these great people.

One of my fondest memories is going to Katie's home years ago with a large group of young people, playing games, and eating banana splits. Katie and Mark Spencer were role models and I have often reflected on the fine example they set. Katie was a good friend to my mother and Mom misses her dearly. Laura and I send our condolences to the Spencer family.

We have known Katie and Mark since they moved to Winnipeg. We spent many happy hours together as we travelled the old Canada Winnipeg Mission together. During these times we came to realize that they were very special people and wonderful examples of dedication to the Gospel.
As the years passed by and Mark left us we rode to the Regina Temple every month with Katie for quite some time. It was during these times that we became personally aquainted with her love for her family and for Mark as well as her deep testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Many and hour on those long six hour journeys we spent discussing what was really important in life.
When she was released from the temple there was an empty space in our car that was difficult to fill. Now she has left us again but this time it is not sadness we feel, but happiness in the fact that she is united with Mark again. We envy their family in that their parents seemed to be everything good parents should be. God bless Katie for her friendship, her love for her family and the Church.

How do you express a few words that adequately summarize many years of edifying association with Mark and Katie and the Spencer family! It was an honour for me to serve Katie in a position of trust these last several years. Condolences to all the family left behind.

We have such wonderful memories of both Katie and Mark that we will always treasure. As immigrants to Canada Mark and Katie used to visit our Branch in Thompson and our little children were treated by them as if they were their grandchildren. this was very special as our children never saw their grandparents.
When we moved to Winnipeg many years later it was wonderful to have a loving welcome from the Spencers. Katie and Mark made sure we found a home in their Ward that was suitable for our family and a good price.
Through the years it has been our priviedge to know them and then to work with and know and love Gary, George and Linda and their Family.
Our condolences to all the family at this time of parting, and our congratulations to Katie and Mark, who are finally rejoicing in a glorious re-union.... How wonderful!
With love,
Maggi & Jeff
