Keith Lamb Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2018.
Keith Owen Lamb, 65, left this world unexpectedly to enter the gates of heaven on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He was born July 17, 1952 in Evansville to Ed and Shirley (Morgan) Lamb.

He was employed at the Evansville State Hospital for 26 years. "If you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life." Keith enjoyed his job tremendously. Sports and coaching occupied the majority of his time, but what he loved most was spending time with friends and family. Keith enjoyed vacations with his "honey" to Panama Beach, FL. He was a dedicated husband, father, son, "POPPY" to his grandchildren and friend. There was never a dull moment with him and he was always the life of the party.

Keith was preceded in death by Betty and Carl Cates, Chuck Cates, and best friend, Bill Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, soulmate, and "Baby Girl" of 46 years, Sue (Cates) Lamb; children, Braxton Lamb, Kol Lamb and Bambi Tilton; his parents, Shirley Lamb, Ed Lamb and Larry "Bro" McBride; sister, Deborah Heckaman (Jim); grandchildren, Khy-Lee Grubel, Dru Gray, John David and Keith Tilton.

A Funeral Service was held 11:00AM, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street, officiated by Pastor Glen Flowers. Friends visited 1:00PM to 6:00PM, Sunday, April 8, 2018 and Monday from 9:30AM to service time at the funeral home.

I still look in the direction where where you bid us farewell when I drive east or west on Lincoln Avenue. You are always remembered at our Bosse High School Class of 1970 reunions. We miss you dearly. But we will all meet again at our appointed times. We love you, Keith. Always will.

I first crossed path with Keith in the early 1980's buying work boots from him. I at the time neither dreamed I would be working closely beside him over 30 years later. The last 3 years that I have worked at ESH with Keith we became very close friends. I am will always miss him and deeply feel for his family and this great loss. There are no goodbyes for us. Dearest Sue and Lamb Family Members and Friends,

May the wonderful, fun memories we all shared with Keith carry us through this difficult time. During our years at Stanley Hall and at Bosse, Keith was always laughing and lovingly teasing me about something! The last moments we laughed was at Roca Bar during our Stanley Hall 8th Grade Reunion Dinner last summer. Thank you, Sue, for sharing Keith with all of us. God makes no mistakes; and true to His Word, He WILL take care of you and your family. Farewell Keith--until we meet again!
