Kenneth E. Ament

Kenneth E. Ament, 85, of Ligonier, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Cook Township, a son of the late Charles M. and Anna Stahl Ament. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he had been employed as a dispatcher for Laidlaw Bus Lines for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church, the Ligonier Valley Senior Citizens and served time with the Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Ament, in 1997; and three brothers, Charles, Emory and Norman Ament. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah M. "Betty" Ament; a son, Jeffrey M. (Donna) Ament, of Tigard, Ore.; two grandchildren, Lee (Stephanie) and Christopher Ament; two great-grandchildren, Rohan and Browyn Ament; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Ament, of Latrobe. Friends were received Wednesday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where Ken's life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Fred Zickefoose officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
