Kenneth Lang Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2025.
Ken Lang, 84, of West Saint Paul, passed away on May 13, 2025, at Southview Acres in West St. Paul.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lola; in-laws, Jack and Loraine; sister, Georgeanne; brother, Richard(Dickie); sisters-in-law, Linda and Sue; and granddaughter, Jessica. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, June; children, James (Chrissy) and Jill; grandchildren, Lindsey and Henry; brothers, Bob (Judy) and Mike (Dawn); sister, Barb; brothers-in-law, Wayne, Brad (Sharon), and Tim; sister-in-law, Candy (Robert); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born on December 22, 1940, Ken grew up in Saint Paul and later moved with his family to Hinckley, Minnesota. He attended Hinckley High School, where he participated in sports and played the clarinet. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963 as a Petty Officer Third Class Aviation Electronics Technician. He was stationed aboard the USS Ranger (CV-61) and later the USS Banner II (AKL-25) in the Pacific.

Following his military service, Ken married June in 1964 and soon after began his career at Control Data Corporation and later at Brown & Bigelow. Ken was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, and remained a steady presence in the lives of those he loved. He was an avid reader of history and geography and enjoyed watching sports, especially Golden Gophers hockey and the Saint Paul Capitals.

Ken was the dad everyone liked-known for his positive, supportive nature and great sense of humor. He volunteered as treasurer for the West Saint Paul Youth Hockey Association in the late 1970s and, after retirement, gave his time at the United Hospital Visitor Welcome Center, always ready to help with a kind voice and warm smile.

Ken lived a life of integrity and honor, always putting others before himself. A man of quiet strength and boundless love, his legacy is one of selfless devotion. His family was his world, and his actions always spoke louder than words. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Thank you, Dad, it was an honor to walk beside you
