Ken is survived by his Brother Peter Marlowe and his family, Las Vegas, NV; his Nephew Eric Marlowe and his family, Washington, DC; his longtime childhood love and friend, Andrea Haller, Welborn, Fl.

Ken was predeceased by his Dad, Maurice "Skip" Marlowe, his Mom, Bernice "Bunny" Marlowe, and his Uncle Arthur "Robert" Marlowe.

Ken graduated from Bronx High School of Science, Bronx, N.Y. and graduated from Hofstra University, Long Island, N.Y. After college Ken became a successful CPA and worked in Manhattan while residing in Forest Hills. Not so much like the Ken we may know in his later years, but on a whim in 1994, he, "Kenny" and his lifelong friend Andrea, "Andy" decided to relocate and move to Sanibel Island where they shared a charming waterfront home. You can imagine the contrast from a concrete jungle to a heavily vegetated landscaped property; actually this could have initiated his love for orchids, tropical plants and trees alike.

Shortly after settling in and adjusting to Island life, Ken made a career change. Ken became a licensed real estate agent and serviced all of the Fort Myers, Lee County area. Many of his clients became his long time friends. He immersed himself with the local Board of Realtors serving on many committees and being heavily involved with the promotion of educational classes. He was a familiar face for many years as he monitored those same classes he whole heartedly believed in. Many associates formed lasting friendships with Ken and he was the go to guy whenever questions came up about ethics, standards, properties and calculating anything you needed right down to the penny. He'd sit there with his notes, with his pen and when he wasn't using his pen he'd replace it right where it was intended to be, the pen slot in his shirt breast pocket. Don't ask what happened when the pen bled...just don't ask. Ken got great pleasure out of teaching, sharing and exchanging all things real estate. If Ken received dinner coupons for the Casino, he couldn't wait to distribute them among his friends, if he got vouchers for free beer at the Octoberfest (where each year he would volunteer), he was sure to share.

Listening to Ken when he shared some of his childhood stories and life growing up in the Bronx, you would detect that boating played a big part of his families recreational activity. They enjoyed boating and the weekend would consist of prepping the boat one day then off boating the next. In Ken's junior year of high school, he had a bicycle accident, his folks had to give the consent to operate; doctors explained they had to crack his skull open to relieve the pressure on his brain, then put a metal plate into his head. His Dad's immediate concern was, since they steered their course using the compass, if they used a ferrous metal it would cause the compass to spin! So what many did not know about Ken, he had a titanium plate, (non-ferrous metal) in his head. The quick and decisive selection of metal to be used was proof that this was a family of serious boaters who would not allow interference or a compromised compass that could affect the direction they set out for.

Boating continued this into Ken's adulthood and he made a special fb comment, "Sailing in NY Harbor is a really neat experience. It's hard to describe all the amazing sites. Getting there, going down the East River, passing under the bridges and past the United Nations is truly special." So stemming from his childhood boating experiences we can understand his love for the sea/water, reading Doc Ford novels and how he became an avid collector of Rums.
