Kenneth Pyles Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 23, 2018.
Kenneth A. Pyles, 68 of Randolph, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2018, at UH Portage Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Born October 11, 1949, in Philippe, West Virginia, to the late Dorothy (Davis) Spahr and John A. Pyles, he was a loyal and dedicated son, brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, and uncle who served proudly in the United States Air Force. Kenneth enjoyed camping, hunting, and being outdoors, and was a longtime member of the Liberty Bible Church in Atwater, Ohio, where he also served as deacon and song leader.

Kenneth retired from CSX Transportation after 42 years of service as a signal inspector. Kenneth also served as band booster president for the Waterloo Music Boosters and volunteered his time for the Portage Animal Protective League. Kenneth will be remembered as a kind person who never met anyone he couldn't talk to.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother and father, daughter Laura K. Pyles, mother and father-in-law Doris and Patrick Gordon, and brother-in-law Rick L. Gordon.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Kay, and daughters Lisa K. and Lori M. Pyles, step-father Gordon Spahr, sister Yvonne (Harold) Hughes of McDonald, Ohio, brothers Dan (Madonna) Pyles, John Pyles, and Jeff (Patricia) Pyles all of West Virginia. Brothers-in-law Roger Gordon, Pastor Robert (Dianne) Burgess, and Jeff (Martha) Reynolds; and sisters-in-law Julie Gray, Charlotte Cross, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the ICU Staff, with special recognition and gratitude to Nicholas and Kimberly Reynolds, Megan Huth, and Heather Evans at UH Portage Medical Center for his tender care.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Liberty Bible Church, 2215 State Route 183, Atwater, with services to immediately follow by Pastor Paul R. Phillips.

Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Portage Animal Protective League, P.O. Box 927, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.

Dear Kay, Lisa , and Lori
I am so sorry about your loss. Ken was an awesome man. He always came to see Dad when he was in the hospital. They loved to talk trains.
It's such a loss for us but he is rejoicing in heaven. To finally be pain free.
I know you'll all do fine. You get your strength from your Dad & Ken.
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Denny and I are so deeply sorry for your loss. Ken was a good man who will be missed and remembered. I love all the fun memories of those band trip years! And I will never, ever forget how kind both he and Kay were to my 97 year-old mother when they saw her up at Brimfield Altercare. A good man, a good neighbor, with a heart of gold. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

In the short time we had getting to know Ken while visiting Liberty Bible Church, it was obvious that Ken had a deep love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave his all when leading praise & worship. Ken made everyone feel welcome and shook every hand. Cant wait to see him again in Heaven.-Chris & Ron Sterner
