ADA — Services for Kenneth Gaylon Rhynes, 85, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Rev. Robert Brown will officiate assisted by the Rev. Robert Ware. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Rhynes died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1923, at Lamar, Ark., to Denis and Velma Belling Rhynes.He and his family moved to Ada in 1938 from Arkansas. He graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central College.Mr. Rhynes and his wife, Olga, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. They were married March 20, 1949, at the Assembly of God Church in Fittstown.Mr. Rhynes was owner of Rhynes Surplus in downtown Ada from 1938 until retiring in 1988. He attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.Survivors include his wife, Olga Rhynes, of the home; three sons, Gary Rhynes, Thackerville, Keith Rhynes and wife Barbara, Durant, and Kenny Rhynes and wife Donna, Ada; two daughters, Karen Rhodes and husband George, Ada, and Becky Jackson and husband Gary, Ada; two sisters, Mary Burnett, Newcastle, and Inez Agee and husband Calvin, Sulphur; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Bearers will be his grandsons, Garrett Rhynes, David Rhynes, Jason Rhynes, Dallas Rhynes, Lance Rhynes, Scott Rhodes, Trey Rhynes, Tyler Jackson, Kyle Jackson and Kevin Jackson.Criswell Funeral Home, Ada

WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL ME AND MY COUSIN BARBRA WOULD STOP BY RHYNES ALL THE TIME AND KENNETH WOULD GIVE US MONEY FOR ORANGE PUSHUPS AT DICUS....HE WAS SUCH A NICE MAN.
MRS.RHYNES EVEN TOOK US HOME WITH HER AND HAD US HELP CLEAN THE FLOWER BEDS FOR MOVIE MONEY.
