Kenneth Steely Obituary
STEELY, Kenneth Kenneth Lewis Steely, 74, of Goose Creek, South Carolina died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born November 25, 1933 in Jenks, OK, Mr. Steely was the son of the late James Franklin and Rose Vergie Jones Steely. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a sales supervisor with Derst Baking Company. Surviving Mr. Steely are his wife of 56 years, Edna Scott Steely of Goose Creek, SC; children: Starr Kittrell of Portsmouth, VA, Kenneth L. Steely, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, Paul D. Steely of N. Charleston, SC and Tony Steely of James Island, SC; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A son, Jimmy Steely, preceded Mr. Steely in death. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, N. Charleston, this Thursday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services for Mr. Steely will be held at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Friday, April 25, 2008 at 1 PM, with interment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, N. Charleston, SC 29406. I, along with Suzzette, Billy, Tony & Angela, grew up across the street from you guys. That was back in the '60's and the memories are more than this venue will allow. I fondly remember Mr. & Mrs. Steely as 'neighborhood mom & dad's to us all and our friendships between all of us and all of you are treasures to each of us. I worked with Jimmy Steely at the shipyard. I remember when his life was cut short. My prayers go out to the family and friends on the passing of Jimmy's father. May the Good Lord give you all comfort and peace,
