Kenneth Turner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2023.
Kenneth Jay Turner, 63, of San Jose, California, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 17:30 after a lengthy battle with organ failure.

Ken was born on February 2, 1960 to William Turner and Lorraine Turner in Los Angeles, CA. Shortly after, he moved to San Jose, CA, where he lived the remainder of his life. He attended and graduated from Camden High School in 1978.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, William and Lorraine. Ken is survived by his two sons, Brian (Adriana) and Josh, two brothers, Bill (Teresa) and Mark (Sue), three nieces, Lindsay (Teddy), Jodie (Michael), and Jennifer, grandson, Miles, and beloved dog, Jada.

Ken had a big heart and was always thinking of others. Ken had a love for barbecues and had quite the collection to prove it. Nothing made Ken happier than having friends/family gathered around the bbq trying out his new meat rub or getting a slice of the Giorgio's Special at Giorgio's Pizzeria in San Jose.

A celebration of life will be held in San Jose, CA on August 6, 2023 at 11:00. Location TBD. If you'd like to be notified, please specify in the message notes.

I know I have already commented, but I can't get Ken out of my mind. We have been friends for over 50 years. We did love Giorgio's Special and Ken, Mark, and I once order a large GS each thinking we could eat them. We were young fools... Love you Ken.

I worked with Ken at KFC when we were in high school, and had the best time working with him and the best memories of that job because of Ken! He was hilarious....he would imitate Elvis by putting his apron around his neck like a cape and sing into the hose that they would wash the floors with. He was the best! So sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family.

I am so totally in shock to hear the news of Ken's passing! He was always so strong! I used to call him my "work husband" and would always give him a "to-do list". He never complained and was always so helpful in completing all the tasks we needed to accomplish! He was honest, hard-working, and a gentle soul. He will be greatly missed! We shared the same Birthday on Groundhog's Day! I now live in Placerville and cannot make the service. He will always be in my heart and mind on our birthdays! Rest in peace Ken, you were a super guy! My condolences to the entire family.

I have a lot of memories of Ken when he was just 16 years old and worked at KFC. He kept us amused with his Elvis impersonation, John Wayne (even with the walk), and even a character from the show "Soap" where he would make himself "invisible". There were always lots of laughs with his great sense of humer, yet he had a great work ethic, even as a teenager. I haven't communicated with him for many, many years, but it sounds as he had a good life with family and friends. I'm sad he was taken just as he was entering his golden years. RIP, Ken, I hope you are getting laughs where ever you are!

I´m so surprised and saddened. Ken was a great friend to me regarding the recent loss of my husband. I have known Ken for years. I seem a messenger message from him weeks ago but hadn´t responded.
RIP my friend I will miss our messages to each other over the years!
