We are taught at an early age to enjoy the simple things that life offers but as we get older sometimes that becomes lost in the demands made upon us as an adult.

I am reminded of this life quote today as we remember Kent. His life brought blessings to many as a son, brother, husband, father and colleague. Its the latter with which I will remember Kent most fondly for in the brief time I knew and worked with him.

He remembered to enjoy the simple things in life by volunteering his time and energy to organize a team for a charity golf tournament to raise money for March of Dimes.

On the day of the golf event while many worried about how they would look or play Kent simply had a smile on his face I had never seen before. He was truly enjoying life and commenting on how nice the lunch buffet, endless supply of beer and award ceremony complete with food and beverages were organized. I knew he enjoyed his day when he asked the executive sponsor who made the rounds to each of the tables if they planned to have the event next year.

Kent was looking forward to making this an annual event but we are reminded in his tragic and untimely passing that life is fragile and we need to stop and make time for things that are most important in our lives despite how busy we may think we are.

I am thankful to Kent for inspiring me to get back on the golf course and I will always remember him every time I step back on that golf course.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to Kent's family and friends. I pray we look beyond our sadness and grief to reflect and remember the many blessings we had with Kent during his life.

Kent was such a great person. Always full of life and adventure. There are so many fun memories and stories that come to mind for us when we think of Kent and his family. Our hearts are aching with grief. He will truly be missed not only by our family but also by the many people who had the privilege of knowing him.

I am still in a state of disbelief and shock that Kent is no longer with us. I have known Kent for a limited time, but we bonded as colleagues almost instantly. He was a man full of passion and a great team player. We will miss you, Kent. My heart goes out to the young family that will need all the courage to deal with this irreparable loss.
