DELAVAN - Kevin D. Diekhoff, 58, of Troy, formerly of Delavan, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
He was born June 16, 1950, in Lincoln to D. Delmar and Wilma K. Weiland Diekhoff.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Cindy Tammeus Diekhoff of Troy; one son, Cody (Kymber) Diekhoff of Bloomington; one daughter, Karli (Dan) Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Daniel (Judy) Diekhoff of Charlestown, Ind., and David (Judy) Diekhoff of Delavan; one sister, Linda (Jerry) Christensen of Whitney, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Delavan.
Kevin worked at Hometown Phone Book in Collinsville as a sales/marketing director. He previously co-owned four boot and shoe stores in central Illinois named Grizzley's.
He enjoyed playing pool and cards, fishing, bowling and spending time with his children. He was an enthusiastic advocate of his son's music and his daughter's art.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden, where a celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. The Rev. David Hofer will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, also at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
Davis Mortuary, Delavan Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Cindy, I never got to tell Kevin thanks for being my friend, for being so generous, for being so great to Summer and Wyatt, for being so positive, or for seeing the good in life and not the bad.
