Kevin Michel

Kevin John Michel, also known as Kev, died on August 24, 2023, after fighting a long hard battle with Primary Progressive M.S. at the age of 67 in Los Angeles, California (formerly of East Meadow, NY). He was born on September 21, 1955, Beloved son of Marian and the late John K. Michel. Loving brother of John and Karen (Ray). Cherished Uncle of Emily Jade. Loving cousin to Debbie Abate, Donna Abate, Denise Smith and Rich Mole. Loving nephew and godson to Josephine Abate.

Kevin attended St. Pius X Prep School for his high school education and later pursued higher education at SUNY College at Oneonta and California State University Long Beach for his Masters Degree.

Throughout his career, Kevin served as a Senior Planner at the City of Santa Clarita and as a Transportation Manager for freeway/HOV at L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He dedicated his professional life to contributing to the development and improvement of transportation systems.

Outside of work, Kevin had a passion for reading and visiting museums and National Parks. He was an avid traveler, exploring various countries in Europe for extended periods of time. He had a keen interest in learning different languages and even studied Spanish while temporarily living with a family in Costa Rica. Kevin believed strongly in helping others in need.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support causes that were important to Kevin such as The Habitat for Humanity or the Los Angeles Food Bank in Kevin's memory. Contributions to these organizations will continue Kevin's legacy of making a positive impact on the community.

There will be a private cremation by his family in Los Angeles, California.

Kevin will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
