Kevin Santavicca Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 8 to Nov. 9, 2009.
SANTAVICCA KEVIN
On November 6, 2009, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease), our Good Lord reached out his hand and said, "Come, it's time to come home." He was the loved and cherished son of Albert Santavicca Sr. and Angela Scisciani Santavicca; beloved father to Michele, Jason and Samuel Santavicca; stepfather of Anastasia Stewart; beloved "Pappy" to Alexus, Emmarose, Cameron, Dylan, Brendan, Jackie and Kirstan; brother of Albert Santavicca Jr., Jacquelyn (Bill) Schmider, Mark and Gary Santavicca; uncle to Damion, Dana, Anthony, Christine (David) Koyle, Shana (Lucas) Reynolds and Derek Schmider; husband of Annette Santavicca; nephew of James and Arthur Scisciani, Rose Bellon, Helen Adragna and special Aunt Lucille; and many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kevin was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan and loved racing, especially Dale Ernhart Sr. and Jr., and he attended all surrounding racetracks until ALS prevented him from attending. Friends received BAGNATO FUNERAL HOME, Jefferson St., Carnegie, Monday, 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Ignatius Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Tuesday, 10am.

Dear Kevin,
Although we've never met, I concider you a close friend because I was introduced to you through the heart of Annette. Her love for you will always remain strong. Keep her under your wing, and help The Father protect her, so that she may one day safely reach you, and be once again united with your soul in a perfect state of being. Please lay your wings upon those who need comfort in accepting your new journey in Heaven...

Aunt Toots
I hope you are taking comfort in knowing that you did all you could for Kevin. You didn't stand around and talk about loving him...you made sure he had the BEST care all the time, made sure his needs were not neglected, and you were by his side in every scare spare moment you could. He witnessed your love. Never doubt that. Even when pulled in all directions, your focus was on him, and he knew that. Every tough decision you made was made FOR him, and he appreciated that. You were his voice when he didn't have his own, and his strength when his own failed. I am sure he will be beside you in spirit, helping you guide Sam to be the man he should be. If there is anything you need, do not hesitate to call us. We hope you find comfort and strength in your memories of Kevin and in each other.

My dear Annette: my thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray that God continues to give you strength, and brings you comfort at this time. I have been with you through your heartaches and tears this past year and a half, our prayers for Kevin have been answered and our Heavenly Father in His great mercy has taken Kevin home and he is at peace and no longer suffering, in the presence of God. Let your heart heal, know that Kevin knew your love for him... you will meet again and and walk together in the sun. God Bless you...I love you. Cousin Evelyn

Angie the services you arranged for your beloved son, are a true sign of your love and devotion. True to Kevins' spirit. Know he is at peace, and sent there with dignity and love. Some may have found him a burden, but you saw nothing but a blessing, and cared for him with tireless love and grace.

To My Loving Husband,

Honey you know you have reached deep into my heart and the hold will never go away. Even though you have left this earth we will forever be together. I'm proud to say I am your wife.. Kevin we have shared to much and we had so much more to go. You told me that if you ever went before me you will wait for me at those pearly gates on our matching rocking chairs, and we will sit hand in hand.....
I know that you are with Joey, Mike, Austin, Chucky and so many more having the best time ever.....
I have watched what ALS has done to you and Honey you know that if I could have turned back the hands of time to have you by my side, to kiss your lips to lay in your arms just one last time...

Baby I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER
I'll never forget our wedding as you wiped the tears of joy from my eyes as I spoke to you my vowels... You have been my world for the last 18 years, and everytime I look into Sam's eyes I will see you. Until we meet again MY LOVE
Your Loving Wife,
Annette

To Annette and Kids,
My heart goes out for all of you. I do how it feels to lose a love one. Kevin has been a part of our family since his been about 12. You and your children has talked about this several times since Kevin has gotten sick. I know how much he wanted to be at his best's funeral a couple of years ago and could not make it because of his illness but that is okay because his friend went before him to make sure that when Kevin arrived he would have a place in God's Kingdon right beside him, I am sure that they are having a party, celebrating their life on earth and starting on work making a place in the kingdon of Heaven for the next person to come. Love you always.
